Crispy, curled, Red Oak leaves
now browned and thin,
like an over-done cube steak,
take on the Spring frost
that looks like
heavy pinches of sea salt
melting away
as the sun brings
the meager heat
of this weekday.

今では茶色く薄くなり
日中のかすかな熱で
溶けていく
海塩のような
春の霜をまとう
