An Array of Spring 春のシリーズ

An array of spring

bursts into the garden

with Old Man Winter

just nodding

as he melts away slowly

into the soil

that braced so hard

against him,

for months a frozen

relationship,

cold on hard

and hard on cold

lashed by Northern gales,

til day by day

the light did brighten,

staying now longer

to warm the earth

that's so receptive

to an attentive sun.

次から次へと

春が庭ではじける

年老いた冬は

がっちりとつかまっていた

土にゆっくり溶けていき

頷くだけ

何カ月にもわたる

凍った関係

光が一日一日

明るくなるまで

冷たく硬く

硬く冷たい

北風に打ちつけられていたけど

今は長い時間

そこにいて

皆の必要を顧みる太陽を

受け入れる。
