One Last Look 最後の眺め

The old Oak

and Hickory

warm the hedgerow

as they greet the sun

that keeps its head lower now

as it chases another season of birth

far to the South.

Yet it gives these trees

one last look

of splendid display,

of glowing aura,

that softens the scene

before giving way

to the stark and gray.

 

年老いたオークと

ヒッコリーの木

頭を低くして

南に向かって

新しい四季を追いかける

太陽に挨拶をし

生垣を彩る。

 

それでもこれら木々たちは

見事な最後の

燃え立つオーラの

最後の華麗な眺めを

与えてくれる

不毛の灰色に

道を譲る前に

柔らかな光景をのこして。
