Shadows of life
are intermittent,
dependent on the course
that the real you takes;
sometimes wanted,
often neglected,
distorted frequently for fun
or twisted in the act of malfeasance,
as if they meant anything
on their own.

They are less than
a reflection,
merely an omission
where once a profile stood.

影の命は
