Snow People 雪の人々

 

The snow people returned
on the first day of March.

With still over a foot
of snow on the ground,
the first flower seems
to be weeks away...
but I guess we don't
know what is going on
beneath the bases
of these winter guardians.

In some years in Michigan
we might have been
on the golf course today.

雪の人たちが
3月の最初の日に戻った来た。

地面にはまだ
30センチ以上の雪、
最初の花までまだ
何週間もかかりそう...
だけどこの監視人たちの
下で何が起きているのか
私たちには分からないのかもしれない。

ミシガンのある年の今日は
ゴルフコースに
居たかも知れない。
