Frozen Wave 凍った波

 

By March we beg
for the winter's
snow to retreat,
back to its beginnings...
to the ground,
to the sky,
to the rivers
and oceans...

leave us with warming earth
and let the greening begin;

but we pause
for just a moment,
to see the beauty
of a wind whipped
and sun shaped
snow sculpture,
that soon
will be more rare,
than the flowers
we now long for.

3月までに私たちは
冬の雪が消えてくれることを
願う...
地に、
空に、
川に、
そして海に...

私たちと暖かい地をそっとしておくれ
また緑化を始めさせておくれ

だけど少しだけ
止まってみよう、
風で煽られ
太陽で形造られた
雪の彫刻の美しさを
見るために
もうすぐ
今待ち焦がれている
花よりも
珍しくなってしまうのだから。
