Light flurries drifted across the garden this morning,
leaving an additional trace of snow
above the three inches that has aged well
during a week of cold and intermittent sun
that gave us a White Christmas
highlighted by the green of the White Pines,
Junipers, Cedars, and Spruce;
while this little Sedum flashes its green too,
a sufficient reminder of what awaits us
at Winter's end.
今朝軽い小雪が庭を飛んだ、ホワイトパイン、杜松、ヒマラヤスギ、
トウヒの緑によって引き立てられ
ホワイトクリスマスになった
冷たく断続的な太陽の一週間の間に
年をとった3インチの上に
更なる雪の跡を残して。
その間この小さなセダムも緑を煌めかせていた、
冬の終わりに
待っているのを思い起こさせるのに
十分なほど。
